What happens to the birds after they are released?
For the most part the birds are predictable, although, once they are released it is impossible to predict their exact behavior.  Once the birds are released,  it is their nature to return to their loft.  The birds will circle in the air until they get their bearings on which direction they need to fly to go home.  The number of times the birds will circle is unpredictable, but is usually between two and four times.
Can they be released inside?
The birds can not be released inside under any conditions.  There is not sufficient space available for the birds to be able to navigate indoors and find a way out.  A attractive option would be to have a display cage set up at a key location at your event if a outside release is not an option.
How late in the day can the birds be released?
The birds can not be released at night time, and must have sufficient time to travel home from a release.  Typically, at least one hour prior to sunset will allow enough time for safe return.  A release in our “extended release area” can increase the amount of time required for safe return home.  A Dove Tales professional will be happy to assist you in determining flight time requirements.
What about inclement weather?
Our number one priority is for the safety and safe passage of our birds.  We will not release the birds in any weather that we feel will jeopardize either of these.  Inclement weather conditions may include, but are not limited to:  heavy rain, lightning, high winds, thick fog, or heavy snow.  A well trained and properly conditioned bird can fly year-round under normal weather conditions.
